Submitted by kgnadmin on

SpaceX has secured another major contract with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings to provide Starlink internet onboard its cruise ships, according to DriveTeslaCanada. The website focusing on SpaceX, and ventures affiliated with Elon Musk, said that NCL has not yet confirmed the news officially, and that the information comes from Cruise Critic forum member.

The Cruise Critic member said that he had a meeting with the internet department and asked if NCLH was in fact testing Starlink on the Norwegian Breakaway.

"He said the test is completed, contracts are signed, Breakaway install was completed yesterday and they are installing on Getaway starting today. They are installing Starlink fleet wide, starting with NCL, followed by Regent, then Oceania. Every ship will have Starlink by the end of the year. I asked him if it was ok if I post the news on CC and he said yes, please!" said the guest on Cruise Critic forum.

In response to more information Drive Tesla Canada received a message from Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, that said “We do not have any information to share at this time.”

Norwegian Cruise Line hasn’t yet made any official announcement about the partnership with SpaceX to add Starlink across its fleet, but it appears as though the cruise line is in the testing phase.

Back In November, passengers aboard Norwegian Breakaway spotted nearly a dozen Starlink antennas. Although NCL has not yet announced anything officially, it seems that just over two months later the company is ready to join Royal Caribbean Group and Carnival Corporation and start offering Starlink internet to its passengers and crew.
