New Agreement Between NCL and MTN Ensures Crew access to the Most Advanced Technology in Communications

 

MTN Satellite Communications announced the extension of its contract with Norwegian Cruise Line for five years for VSAT communications, the crew calls, internet services, access Worldwide TV MTN ™ and related services worldwide.

MTN will continue to provide communications solutions to the entire Norwegian fleet, including their newest cruise ships, Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway, which will set sail in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

MTN's partnership with Norwegian Seaward started in 1991, which gave MTN bandwidth to the cruise ship carrying 1,480 passengers and 740 crew members. Over the years, the two companies shared many new features, such as the launch of the first Internet connection and Internet cafes at sea.

With the contract extension, NCL and MTN will continue to provide a full range of communications services, including Internet cafes and Wi-Fi so users can access the Internet through smart phones, tablets, computers and laptops. Additional amenities include MTN OceanPhone ®, which enables reliable connectivity to friends and family of the crew, as well as extensive programming MTN Worldwide TV ™, including E! Entertainment Television, BBC World News, CNBC, MSNBC, Fox News, Sky News, Sky Sports News and Sport 24.
