Eleven cruise ships carrying 17,000 passengers and 7,000 crew sailed to the port of Madeira, Funchal on 31 December to see the world’s largest fireworks for New Years Eve.

Among the ships docked in the port or anchored in the bay were Cunard Line Queen Elizabeth, Thomson Majesty, AIDAblu, AIDAsol, TUI Mein Schiff 4, Fred. Olsen Black Watch, Cruise & Maritime Voyages Magellan and Marco Polo, P&O Cruises Oceana, Saga Perl 2 and Balmoral.

For this majestic firework display 128,982 fireworks were launched from 37 different locations. Below is a video taken from a drone showing the stunning fireworks in Madeira.
