Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCL) has announced signing of an agreement with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri to construct four new state-of-the-art cruise ships valued at approximately $9.34 billion.
The order is the largest ever signed by Fincantieri, marking a major expansion for NCL. The massive vessels—each weighing around 226,000 tons—will be built at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone shipyard in northeastern Italy. The first ship is set for delivery in 2030, with the others following in 2032, 2034, and 2036.
Designed with cutting-edge technology and a strong focus on sustainability, the new ships will accommodate more than 8,300 passengers and crew. Fincantieri, which recently raised its annual revenue forecast above €8 billion, emphasized that the vessels will meet the highest industry standards for innovation and environmental responsibility.
This deal strengthens the partnership between NCL and Fincantieri, which has already delivered two Priman Class ships—Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva—for the cruise line. Additionally, the first unit of the Prima Plus class is set to debut in the coming months, with three more ships in various stages of design and construction.
