A tragic incident occurred on the Virgin Voyages cruise ship Valiant Lady on Sunday, resulting in the death of a female passenger. According to reports, the passenger fell from her balcony and landed on another passenger on a lower deck, while the ship was en route from PortMiami to Roatan, Honduras. The passenger could not be saved despite immediate medical attention from the onboard medical team.

In response to the tragedy, Virgin Voyages issued a statement expressing their deep sadness and condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased. The ship was immediately redirected back to Miami, and the crew is cooperating with local authorities in their investigation.

The captain of the Valiant Lady made an announcement to the passengers, explaining the situation and the decision to turn back to Miami.

A white van from the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner arrived at 3:50am to retrieve the deceased passenger's body.

Due to the incident and subsequent delay, the cruise itinerary has been adjusted. The ship will miss its port of call in Roatan, and the stop at Costa Maya has been replaced with Cozumel, likely due to anticipated bad weather.
