The arrival of Pacific Adventure at Sydney harbour marks P&O Cruises Australia's return of the entire fleet back home to continue cruising Australia. The Pacific Adventure sailed through the Heads on its way to the overseas passenger terminal and P&O announced that the celebrations were toned down as a mark of respect following Her Majesty's death.
Pacific Adventure is one of the tallest ships ever to sail under the Sydney Bridge. Only two meters separated her mast from the top of the famous steel spans when she later sailed to White Bay.
The ship will eventually sail year-round from the port city when it officially joins the P&O fleet. Her first voyage with passengers will depart on October 22, starting with a three-day comedy cruise.
Pacific Adventure has undergone a transformation and will offer guests refurbished bars and dining areas including the Adventure Hotel, 400 Grads, Luke's and a new lobby, all in keeping with P&O's contemporary look and feel.
The first of its kind 'Twin Racer' waterslides have been added onboard, meaning you can race against time and challenge your family, friends and newfound friends on our Twin Racer waterslides.
Adventure's docking preparations Pacific Adventure's port stay in Sydney will allow the cruise line to embark crew members, conduct operational maneuvers and prepare for "working" or "test" voyages, ahead of its maiden passenger voyage.
While in berth, the crew will gradually board the ship each day and supplies will be loaded onto the ship. Staff and contractors will also carry out maintenance tasks on and around the ship in preparation for its return to service.
Pacific Adventure will spend the night at OPT before moving Saturday morning to the White Bay Cruise Terminal in Roselle, which requires her to pass under the bridge.
