Submitted by kgnadmin on

Despite the tentative signs of a cruise restart in Australia, P&O Cruises extended the pause in operations further until 3rd of March, 2022, since the governments continues to hesitate about restarting the cruise industry. Extension in cruise operations refers to voyages departing from 15th of February, 2022 to 3rd of March, 2022 from Sydney and Brisbane. Prior to this decision, P&O Cruises Australia had canceled the scheduled season for the following year for Adelaide, Fremantle and Cairns.

"Recent speculation about the lifting of the cruise ban has been encouraging, but uncertainty continues around the resumption of cruises in Australia," said the president of P & O Cruises Australia, Sture Myrmell.

"Once the return to service and accompanying protocols are clear, it will take us several months to manage the complex logistics required to get a ship back up and running for Australian waters," he added.

P&O Cruises Australia has announced its plans to restart domestic operations with vaccination cruises only for eligible guests and crew. And further explained that the guests whose reservations are in this period will be informed and available options,  will be offered, directly through their travel agent.
