Cruise Port Rotterdam hit a new milestone welcoming its 2.5 millionth cruise passenger on April 3, 2024. This historic moment occurred during the visit of the P&O Cruises Iona, marking a celebratory day for both the cruise line and the city of Rotterdam.

The lucky 2.5 millionth passenger, Ms. Fotheringham, who was visiting with her family, was greeted by Arjan Van Der Linde, the Terminal Manager, and Nick Hoogeweij, the Executive Manager of Cruise Port Rotterdam. The celebration took place in the late morning, just as Ms. Fotheringham was preparing to explore the city via the Watertaxi Rotterdam, with the award-winning Markthal being a highlight on her itinerary.

Ms. Fotheringham, taken aback by the warm reception and the unexpected honor, shared her enthusiasm for her planned visit to Rotterdam. The city, known for its cutting-edge architecture and rich cultural tapestry, promised an exciting day ahead for her and her family. Despite the surprise, she graciously allowed some time for a brief celebration, expressing her delight and anticipation for her visit to the city's famed market hall and other attractions.

This acheivement is not just a significant milestone for the Cruise Port Rotterdam team but also a moment of pride for the city itself. Arjan Van Der Linde and Nick Hoogeweij emphasized the importance of this event, not only as a testament to the port's success in attracting a wide range of international visitors but also as a reflection of Rotterdam's allure as a prime destination for cruise passengers worldwide.

Cruise Port Rotterdam will welcome 19 different cruise lines, operating 33 cruise ships year-round. Each visit to Rotterdam provides passengers with a unique opportunity to explore the city's architectural wonders, culinary delights, and cultural heritage, making every journey memorable.
