Princess Cruise opens new Restaurant on three of their ships

Princess Cruises will open a new restaurant and bar concept on three of their cruise ships named The Salty Dog Gastropub ". The restaurant will offer small gourmet dishes inspired by a typical bar menu with craft beers, cocktails and wines. The "Salty Dog GastroPub" debuted this month aboard the Crown Princess .

The menu was developed in collaboration with the chef Ernesto Uchimura , who was recently awarded "Chef of the Year: Master of Comfort" in Los Angeles magazine.

Guests can choose three small dishes on the menu of the "Salty Dog". The chef has reinvented some classic pub dishes, including pork cheeks "Pale Ale", a spicy stout ribs, sautéed wild mushrooms and lobster macaroni and cheese.

The highlight is the Burger Chef Uchimura " The Ernesto "- beef rib meat, pork belly grilled, caramelized kimchi, crushed beer jalapeno, garlic sauce and caramelized onions, and a delightful cover of old Gruyere cheese cave.

"A gastrobar at sea is an innovative concept that inspired me to be more creative in the kitchen," said Chef Uchimura. The menu "Salty Dog" will not only satisfy the whims of the formal meal, but also offers guests new flavors of the food bar that can be perfectly paired with a craft beer or a good whiskey. "

Next to the "Salty Dog Gastrobar" in the "Wheelhouse Bar", there will be an international bill of whiskeys that will feature the best Scottish spirits, American Bourbon and international whiskeys from Japan, Ireland and Australia. Including Johnny Walker Blue, Bakery Hill Classic ( Australia), Connemara Irish Whisky Cask (Ireland) and Hakushu 12 years (Japan). The menu offers daily tastings of whiskey specialist, allowing customers the opportunity to taste and compare the selections from around the world.

The "Salty Dog Gastrobar" and its wide international whiskeys available in the Wheelhouse Bar, have been launched aboard the Crown Princess, but soon will be aboard the Emerald Princess and Ruby Princess in mid-December. This service will cost  $ 19 per person.
