Princess Cruises has officially invited its crew members to join the startup team for its newest cruise ship, the Star Princess. In a letter sent to teams across the Princess Cruises fleet, the company announced:
“Star Princess is almost ready to make her grand debut, and we want you to join her inaugural team. This exceptional vessel is the second ship in the new Sphere Class and packed with stunning features that are designed to delight our guests and teammates alike.”
Crew Sign-Up and Selection Process
Crew members interested in working aboard Star Princess must complete an online survey, which will remain open until February 28, 2025. The selection process will be conducted by the shoreside Operations and Planning teams, with final selections expected to be completed by the end of May 2025.
Features and Crew Benefits
The hallmarks that made her twin sister, Sun Princess, a standout among the ships launched in 2024 will also be present on Star Princess. Key features include The Dome, The Arena, and The Sphere, all designed to elevate the guest experience. However, it’s not just about the guests—crew members will also benefit from improved living conditions, including:
• Private bathrooms – no more shared facilities
• Modern accommodations with Wi-Fi access points, USB ports, and lockable storage in cabins
• A split-level recreation area complete with an outdoor bar
• An upgraded crew gym and dedicated entertainment spaces
Construction and Debut Season
The Star Princess is currently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. The ship is scheduled for delivery in September 2025.
“As a member of the Star Princess inaugural team, you'll be a part of a ship’s thrilling debut season—where every day is filled with buzz, celebrations, and world-class experiences,” the Princess Cruises letter reads.
Crew Deployment and Preparations
Crew members selected for the Star Princess will be expected to arrive at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy by September 2025, or earlier, depending on their rank and the ship’s operational needs. This timeline ensures that the vessel is fully staffed and prepared for its maiden voyage.
