Princess Cruises has unveiled more details on the features of outdoor entertainment found on the upper deck of the new Royal Princess ship, including the majestic Seawalk, pool areas, a light show and a theater evening 30 percent largest Movies Under the Stars.
"We are putting more emphasis on our options for outdoor entertainment with this new ship," said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises executive vice president. "With all these features in the upper decks, passengers actually enjoy their time in the sun."
Among the new features of the upper deck of the Royal Princess include:
Sea Walk - It extends 28 feet beyond the starboard side of the ship. The boardwalk will be one of the most striking features of the ship. With its 60 feet long and 128 feet hovering above the ocean, this spectacular glass bottom walkway offers incomparable views not available on any other boat. Just as the captain on the bridge you can see the sea conditions through the glass panels in the floor of the bridge, passengers now have the same feeling of out of the side of the ship living an awesome experience. The SeaView Bar also extends over the waves for cocktails with unbeatable views.
Freshwater pools - Directly adjacent to Seawalk passengers will find a lot of options off, beautiful palm trees and two swimming pools. During the day guests can relax and rejuvenate poolside in a variety of seating options, including circular chairs, garden furnishings, tables, stools and chairs. In the pool areas, entertainment options include live music and games inspired by the ports of call of the ship.
Water and Light Show - At night, the roof of the Royal Princess will be transformed with architectural lighting effects to create new moods. The area of the island between the two pools will become a stage showing an interactive sound and light show with dancing fountains. With lighting and a sophisticated sound system, and passengers will marvel considering the source computed with 85 water jets, rising to 33 meters into the night sky.
Movies Under the Stars - The area, Princess house brand, by the pool, will feature a 30 percent larger to allow viewing of movies in a real big screen, along with a high-tech visual and audio to enjoy an unforgettable movie experience outdoors. Passengers can enjoy movies, sporting events and concerts while relaxing in a comfortable chair complete with pillow, blanket and free popcorn. For those who would like to see it from the water, large jacuzzis emplaced above the pool ensure a perfect line of sight to enjoy great films under the stars while soaking.
Evening entertainment - Some nights the island is transformed into a dance floor outdoors and will host the popular Ultimate Deck Party. Perched on a special balcony, a DJ will liven up the night shifts with a mix of energetic music.
