More control of all port operations, transport of passengers ashore to the protection of the marine and coastal environmental controls  are the basis of the memorandum of understanding signed by the chairman of the Port Authority Pasqualino Monti and the Director of Maritime Lazio and commander of the port of Civitavecchia, Peter Vella. The MoU provides strengthening of the supervision and control in the port, already 'normally carried out by the master's port, including the verification of the correct operation of the services for the transport of passengers disembarking and boarding cruise ships. Control activities, including the application of rules of the road, are also addressed to encounter the possession of the titles authorization services Limousine and Taxi. In this regard, the military will have the task of overseeing the areas most frequented by cruisers for the defense of such activities.

On the environmental front, the collaboration between the two organizations provides strengthening of the monitoring especially in the sea area affected by the project of rebuilding the marine flora implemented by the Port Authority.
