Pullmantur expected to grow 8% in 2013

Pullmantur may increase its sales by 8% this year and reach a total of 1.2 million customers. A calculation based on the addition to its fleet of the cruise ship Monarch, which will increase capacity at its cruise division of 20%.

 

The Monarch, generates 1180 direct jobs and sails to Antilles and South Caribbean' from April and throughout the year, with stops in Panama-Colon (Panama), Cartagena de Indias (Colombia), Curaçao Aruba and Caracas-La Guaira (Venezuela). Currently Pullmantur has five cruise ships, which allow to acomodate 12,000 passengers daily.

 

But activity is not confined to Pullmantur cruises-Europe and Latin America, but extends to the Caribbean, terrestrial circuits in Europe and Africa, and the network of travel agencies Nautalia. In short, a conglomerate with clear synergies and in recent years has relied on the internationalization and the commitment to Latin America. In fact, international markets currently represent 65% of the company's business.

 

Gonzalo Chico Barbier, president and CEO of the Group Pullmantur, said that the company's turnover increased by 11% last year, anticipating that "in 2013 we hope to get a 100% occupancy in our fleet of ships and aircrafts." The air division of the group, Pullmantur Air, operates four Boeing 747-400 aircraft scheduled and charter flights both to the Caribbean. Last year half a million passengers used their services.
