Quantum of the Seas Cruise Canceled Due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred

Submitted by kgnadmin on

Passengers set to embark on Quantum of the Seas three-night cruise on March 7, were met with disappointing news after the sailing has been canceled due to the impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. The storm, which has led to the closure of the Port of Brisbane, has caused delays for the ship’s previous voyage, making it impossible for the vessel to accommodate its next round of passengers as scheduled.

In a letter to affected guests, Royal Caribbean International expressed regret for the cancellation and assured them of compensation for the inconvenience. The cruise line is offering full refunds, including any non-refundable deposits and pre-paid amenities. Guests who booked airfare through the cruise line will also receive automatic refunds, while those with independently arranged travel plans will be eligible for reimbursement of change fees—up to $200 USD per guest for domestic travel and $400 USD per guest for international travel.

To further ease the disappointment, Royal Caribbean is also offering passengers a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) to apply toward a future sailing.

Tropical Cyclone Alfred continues to disrupt travel and maritime operations in the region, reinforcing the unpredictable nature of severe weather events. Guests impacted by the cancellation are advised to stay updated on any further developments and explore alternative sailing dates with Royal Caribbean.
