Quark Expeditions, the leader in polar adventures, has proudly announced its global membership in the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the world's largest cruise industry association.
Andrew White, President of Quark Expeditions, expressed his enthusiasm for this new membership, highlighting the alignment of values between Quark Expeditions and CLIA. He stated, "We're extremely proud to be a new member of CLIA, an industry association whose values are so closely aligned with ours." White emphasized that CLIA's commitment to a secure, healthy, and sustainable cruise environment resonates with Quark Expeditions' own dedication to providing extraordinary travel experiences since its inception in 1991.
CLIA, representing 95% of the world's ocean-going cruise capacity, along with 65,000 global travel agents and 15,000 of the largest travel agencies worldwide, boasts a community that includes prestigious ocean, river, and specialty cruise lines, as well as a highly trained and certified travel agent network. Additionally, it encompasses various industry stakeholders, such as ports, destinations, ship development, suppliers, and business services.
Kelly Craighead, President and CEO of CLIA, underscored the significance of Quark Expeditions' inclusion as a global cruise line member. She highlighted Quark Expeditions' pioneering role in expedition cruising for over three decades, offering expeditions to remote destinations like the Arctic and Antarctic. Craighead stated, "Small-ship expedition cruising is one of the most dynamic and exciting areas of cruising's growth, so we're delighted to have Quark Expeditions join our global community at a time when there's so much energy and innovation in the sector."
