Royal Caribbean Cancels Navigator of the Seas Arrival to Labadee

After unpleasant welcome organized by the locals preventing Freedom of the Seas to dock in Labadee, Royal Caribbean decided to cancel today's scheduled arrival of Navigator of the Seas.

Royal Caribbean statement says that company didn’t receive any assurances or guarantees by Haiti government that there will not be any protests in the future. Therefore Royal Caribbean decided to cancel the arrival of Navigator of the Seas in Labadee.

In regards to future arrivals in Royal Caribbean private resort in Labadee, company said, "We will continue to closely monitor the situation and we are in close communication with local and government officials in Haiti. At this time, we have not made any decisions regarding any additional upcoming port calls to Labadee. The next schedule call is Vision of the Seas, on Sunday, January 24."

Haiti is in deep political and social crisis as protesters took to the streets in the capital Port-Au-Prince on Monday, for suspension of presidential election.

The presidential elections are scheduled for January 24, same day as the arrival of Royal Caribbean Vision of the Seas, therefore is highly possible that this stop will be canceled.
