Royal Caribbean cancels Turkey in 2017

Submitted by kgnadmin on

Royal Caribbean has canceled all cruise ship calls in Turkey for this year. Due to unpredictability in the country Brilliance, Rhapsody and Jewel of the Seas will not sail to Ephesus, Kusadasi in 2017. Instead, this port will be replaced with alternative destinations in the region such as Rhodes, Chania, and Mykonos in Greece. Kusadasi was the only port of call in Turkey added to Royal Caribbean 2017 cruise schedules. Last year Royal Caribbean has also canceled the arrivals in Turkey because of the terrorist attacks in Istanbul. Unlike in 2016 when the cancellations of the ports were announced only a couple of days before the voyage, for this year the company has decided to play safe and do it on time.

Royal Caribbean send a statement to travel agents, saying "Due to the current unpredictability of Turkey, and taking our guests and crew members safety and well-being into account, Royal Caribbean has decided to remove Ephesus (Kusadasi) from all cruise itineraries for the remainder of the 2017 Mediterranean season. Royal Caribbean has been working to find an alternate port and have been able to secure a call to Chania (Crete), Greece."
