Royal Caribbean Crew Donates AC Units and Sports Gear to Mahahual School

Royal Caribbean crew members recently stepped up for the local community in Mahahual, Mexico, making a special delivery to a neighborhood elementary school. As part of the Crew Cares Program, the team donated four new air conditioning units to replace broken ones, ensuring classrooms stay cool in the Caribbean heat. Students also received basketball rims, basketballs, and soccer balls, bringing fresh energy to school sports activities.

This hands-on project is one of many crew-driven initiatives under Royal Caribbean Crew Cares Program, which encourages seafarers to give back to the communities they visit.

The donation follows Royal Caribbean’s wider educational support in Mahahual. During Icon of the Seas’ February 6, 2024 call, company executives announced a US$7,500 contribution to benefit Escuela Primaria Vicente Kau Chan and Telesecundaria Jorge Luis Mugartegui. Beyond schools, Royal Caribbean has also committed funds to community and environmental projects, including US$50,000 with the MARES Center for restoration and education programs, and US$40,000 with Menos Plástico es Fantástico for local beach cleanups.
