Royal Caribbean's presence will increase in Australia following the announced redeployment of Brilliance of the Seas. The ship will sail on itineraries previously announced for Enchantment of the Seas. Royal Caribbean said changes in maritime regulations were the reason for replacing the two ships. Brilliance of the Seas was originally planned for Europe and Florida itineraries in 2023 and 2024, but will now sail Alaska itineraries starting in April, including a number of cruises departing from Vancouver, Canada before coming to Australia in October.
Among the itineraries, 11-night Great Barrier Reef round-trip cruises will sail from Sydney, with port calls at Airlie Beach, Cairns (Yorkies Knob), Port Douglas, Willis Island and Eden with fares starting from $1,455 for December 8, 2023 departure.
She will also sail a 12-star round trip from Sydney, with scenic cruises in Milford Sound, Doubtful Sound and Dusky Sound before calling at the ports of Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, Napier, Tauranga and the Bay of Islands with fares starting from $1,720 for February 2, 2024 departure.
The ship also travels from Sydney to Indonesia on a 16-night voyage with ports in Brisbane, Gladstone, Cairns (Yorkey's Knob), Darwin, Lombok Indonesia, Exmouth and Perth (Fremantle) with fares from $2,765 for February 1. 2024 departure.
All guests booked on Enhancement of the Seas will automatically be rebooked on Brilliance of the Seas in similar accommodation. They are also given the option to rebook other Royal Caribbean sailings or receive a full refund.
Brilliance of the Seas is a Radiance-class ship first launched in December 2002 with a guest capacity of 2,543 passengers.
