Royal Caribbean orders third Quantum Class ship

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. announced the signing of the contract with the shipyard Meyer Werft to build the third cruise ship Class Quantum, which will be delivered in mid 2016. The price and conditions for the realization of the new ship are similar to those agreed for the second unit of the same class and the contract is subject to the granting of a loan.

 

The company has recently unveiled some details of this new class of ships with an innovative design. Among the new features stand out the particular configuration, which allows for a greater number of passenger cabins of superior quality, and exceptional efficiency in terms of energy savings.

 

"We are creating a unique holiday experience with innovative design, award winning service and attractive destinations," said Richard D. Fain, CEO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. Meanwhile Brian J. Rice, Vice President Brands added that this action is consistent with the growth objectives of the cruise line, driving increased profitability leading to a significant investment.

"We are excited by the positive response we have received from travel agents and cruise since we announced last month some of the unique features that we will aboard Quantum of the Seas," said Adam Goldstein, CEO of Royal Caribbean International. "Quantum Class incredible offer vacationers the most amazing activities in space and a third boat, will offer even more opportunities for live cruise Quantum experience".

 

The new ship, which is not yet named, will join the fleet of Royal Caribbean in 2016 to accompany his brothers Quantum of the Seas and Anthem of the Seas that made their maiden voyages in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
