Shipment of Mafia drugs was hidden in Costa Concordia?

One of the most feared Italian Mafia syndicate ’Ndrangheta used cruise ships to smuggle drugs. This is reported by the Italian media who presented intercepted phone calls by Italian Police from ’Ndrangheta boss Michele Rossi. Investigators say Costa Concordia was carrying shipment of Mafia-owned cocaine when it set off on its final voyage.

This is the transcript of the phone conversation between ’Ndrangheta boss Michele Rossi and his associate, Massimo Tiralongo speaking in codes:

"Do you remember the" princess "of what brand it was?".

“The same ship that made us a laughing stock around the world, took the piss out of us, too,”For Italian prosecutors the investigation that a month ago led to the arrest of twenty 'Ndrangheta members, the identification with some of the most famous cruise ships is obvious. Mafia Bosses intended to refer to Costa Concordia and the famous shipwreck of 13 January 2012 ". The investigation is related to tons of pure cocaine from South America that is embarked in the ports of Santo Domingo, Peru, Panama and Florida and then hidden in food supplies for cruise ships or in large bags that, with help of some crew members or officers or Italians who bard the ships as a tourists, typically pairs of Calabrian uncensored on vacation. Mafia used Costa Cruises, MSC and the NCL cruise ships to traffic drugs from South America, Caribbean with final destination in  Europe and North Africa.

Italian prosecutors in Florence say that the drugs on the Concordia, which have not been found, were stowed aboard without the knowledge of senior officers or senior company officials, but almost certainly with the complicity of one or more crew members. This is almost impossible to say that only crew members are involved in such a big Mafia operation since we know that they have no authority on cruise ship for such a big operation.

This is Enormous damage to the Calabrian clans which for some years have diversified routes, embarking their "goods" on unsuspecting cruise ships, Italian and foreign, around the world.
