Legend of the Seas has welcomed a four-legged member to its crew: Skipper, Royal Caribbean’s newest Chief Dog Officer.

Before beginning her first assignment, Skipper completed special training and visited Icon of the Seas, where she met Rover and became familiar with life aboard a cruise ship.

She officially reported for duty on June 27, when the ship’s captain presented her with a uniform.

Skipper follows Rover aboard Icon of the Seas and Sailor aboard Star of the Seas, continuing Royal Caribbean’s growing tradition of assigning resident dogs to its Icon Class ships.

Her role is less about traditional shipboard duties and more about interacting with guests and crew. Since arriving, she has quickly attracted attention onboard and become a popular part of the ship’s community.

As Legend of the Seas begins its inaugural season, Skipper will be on hand to welcome guests and bring an unusual dose of canine charm to the newest Icon Class ship.
