Royal Caribbean International recently made a shift in the national registry of the cruise ship Spectrum of the Seas. The vessel which was previously registered in Bahamas is now flying the flag of Cyprus.
This is the first major transfer to the Cyprus ship registry in recent years coinciding with the Royal Caribbean’s plan to open office in the capital of Cyprus Limassol in 2023, for its eastern Mediterranean operations. Royal Caribbean said the decision followed the company’s first sailings from the port of Limassol in July 2021, as a perfect gateway for guests to explore the Med.
Singapore Cruise Society shared several images of Spectrum of the Seas showing the port of Limassol registry marked on the stern, and the lifeboats bearing the ship's new callsigns.
Built in 2019 at Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany Spectrum of the Seas is a Quantum-Ultra-class cruise ship. The 4,200-guest ship custom-built for the Asian market is sailing a series of cruises departing from Singapore.
