It is a milestone for St. Kitts to welcome guests from four cruise ships, emphasized by the fact that three of them belong to one cruise company, Celebrity Cruises. The cruise ships Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Apex, and the German operator AIDA, with AIDAluna docked on this beautiful island on December 7.
After the difficult year behind, this is a remarkable boost for the local economy, as well as for the inhabitants of St. Kitts involved in the tourism sector. The cruise season in the Caribbean is booming, and St. Kitts did not hesitate to use this situation, to make clever decisions and clear agreements with all the cruise operators interested in visiting before opening the island to tourism. In the clear policy, it is also settled only licensed taxi/tour operators, attraction tour guides, seaport officials, and cruise-related personnel to work with passengers. The island is now capable of safely operating at total capacity.
November has been good for St. Kitts, with a steady stream of 28 cruise ships traffic, bringing 41,000 visitors to Basseterre. For December, 60 ships from different cruise lines, including Seabourn, Royal Caribbean, AIDA, MSC, Celebrity Cruises, Viking, and many more are expected to visit Port Zante. It will also not be the only time this port will see visits by four cruise ships in a day. On December 13, and December 30, the port will be fully booked again.
