Stockholm welcomes Mein Schiff 1 the first cruise ship of the year

Submitted by kgnadmin on

The cruise ship Mein Schiff 1 operated by TUI Cruises has kicked off the cruise season departing from the German port of Kiel on a 7-day Blue Baltic voyage. Captain Omar Caruana and his crew sailed out of Kiel Fjord for the first “Blue Voyage” in 2021 to the Baltic Sea with around 1,100 guests, exploring the beautiful archipelago landscapes off Stockholm and Turku.

Mein Schiff 1, the first cruise ship to visit Port of Stockholm arrived at a centre quay with a warm welcome, escorted by tugboats spraying water jets to celebrate her arrival. The first, and long-awaited, call of passenger cruise ship Stockholm was on 25th May.

The blue voyages, which are scenic cruises without disembarkation in ports, means that passengers remain on the ship for the entire length of the voyage. TUI Cruises plans weekly repeat sailings of the same voyage with the Mein Schiff 1 until the midsummer season.

The cruise line follows the strict protocols issued by the World Health Organization and the Cruise Lines International Association. TUI Cruises has also implemented its own additional health protocols for how its cruises are carried out. The passengers must complete a health declaration form and provide proof of a negative PCR test before they are allowed to board the ship. Mein Schiff 1 is sailing with a reduced number of passangers aboard to enable social distancing and compliance with other measures.
