Sweden to House Refugees on Cruise Ships

After completing the procurement of asylum accommodation of passenger ships and residential platforms, the Swedish Migration Board decided to sign agreement with Accumul8or Invest AB for housing of 1260 refugees on cruise ship. The Swedish Migration Board calls off from the Agreement in order to open the accommodation space for refugees. Probable migration takes place during the first quarter in 2016.

The next step is to call off Accumul8or Invest AB to asylum accommodation, will be open in the first quarter of 2016.

The Swedish Migration Board can not disclose the name of the actual cruise ship because the company requests for commercial confidentiality.

Accumul8or Invest AB must arrange berth for passenger and permits required to operate in the port, including connections for electricity, water, heating and sanitation. The company is also responsible for managing the demands of fire safety required for accommodation

After the call-off agreement is reached on activities for at least six months at a time. How long the individual asylum seekers may stay in the facility's was not disclosed. 

Which groups will move onboard the cruise ship was not disclosed, either exclusively single men, or families with children and people with special needs.
