All three MSC cruise ships sailing in Brazil for the 2021/22 season will be anchored off Copacabana beach on New Year's Eve for Rio de Janeiro's spectacular fireworks. MSC Preziosa, MSC Seaside and MSC Splendida will be anchored off the coast of Rio to experience the amazing New Year’s Reveillon celebration and world famous fireworks.
The news comes as a surprise due to the sudden change of plans on the MSC Splendida itinerary, which was originally scheduled to spend a day at sea on New Year's Eve
MSC Splendida guests received quite a surprise after boarding in Santos on December 26, with the captain's announcement on the PA system they were informed that Reveillon cruise will now proceed to Copacabana beach. The adjustment on the route was welcomed by guests as a great alteration by the commander Michele Di Mauro, reports Meio Marítimo.
Rio de Janeiro’s New Year Celebration is the city’s second most spectacular party after Carnival, and the cruise ships anchored for this event have the front row view of the firework display lighting up the sky of Rio. MSC Cruises is currently the leading cruise operator in Brazil with a wide range of seasonal itineraries on three ships, followed by Costa Cruises with Costa Diadema and Costa Fascinosa deployed in the region.
