TUI Cruises Reportedly in Talks for Two InTUItion Class Ships

Submitted by kgnadmin on

TUI Cruises is reportedly in negotiations with the Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for the construction of two additional InTUItion class cruise ships, according to Schiffe und Kreuzfahrten. If confirmed, this expansion would bring the total number of ships in the class to four, joining the soon-to-be-launched Mein Schiff Relax and Mein Schiff Flow.

Despite the reports, these negotiations remain unconfirmed, and even if finalized, it could take several years before the new ships enter service. The construction of an InTUItion class vessel takes approximately two and a half years, and availability at Fincantieri’s shipyards in Monfalcone and Marghera will be a key factor in determining the timeline.

The first ship of the series, Mein Schiff Relax, is set for delivery in the coming weeks, with preparations for its commissioning already in progress. This launch will allow TUI Cruises to assess its new design, which introduces several guest-focused innovations and, for the first time in the fleet’s history, LNG propulsion technology.
