TUI Cruises has just shared new pictures of their upcoming cruise ship, 'Mein Schiff Relax,' being built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. This ship, which is set to start sailing in spring 2025, has been docked at the shipyard since November 2023. From the outside, the ship's construction is already looking pretty far along.
Inside, work is also moving great. The cabins are mostly finished since they were prefabricated on land and then installed on the ship.
However, there are still a few big steps left before 'Mein Schiff Relax' is fully ready. One of the next major milestones will be a test trip in the Mediterranean, where the ship will sail under its own power for the first time using its LNG engines. Before the ship is delivered in early 2025, TUI will inspect all the completed interior and exterior areas.
'Mein Schiff Relax' is the first of two new ships that TUI ordered from the Fincantieri shipyard. A second, yet unnamed, sister ship is also under construction and is expected to start sailing in 2026. These new ships, part of the InTUItion Class, will feature some new designs and updated features, like revised bar and restaurant concepts, improved suite areas, and upgraded pool decks.
