Two Azamara Journey Crew Members Reportedly Deported During U.S. Calls

Two crew members were reportedly removed from Azamara Journey and deported while the ship was visiting U.S. ports during its 12-night voyage from Montreal to New York.

One of the leading Filipino seafarers page Marino Ph, shared the report on Facebook. The page did not identify the port where U.S. authorities detained the crew members. The reasons for their reported removal remain unclear, and the details have not been independently confirmed.

Azamara Journey’s itinerary listed calls at Portland, Maine, on October 4, Boston on October 5, and Oak Bluffs on Martha’s Vineyard on October 6. The ship was scheduled to transit the Cape Cod Canal late on October 5 before reaching New York on October 7. These dates show the ship’s route, but do not establish where the reported removals happened.

The report follows another incident involving Majestic Princess in Boston. Eight crew members, including seven Filipinos and one Indian national, were reportedly deported on October 5, based on information shared in a video by the popular social media page Buhay Sa Cruise Ship. Crew Center covered that report on October 6, noting that the reasons for the removals were unclear and the account had not been independently confirmed.

The latest reports come amid growing concern among cruise ship workers approaching U.S. ports. Crew Center previously covered accounts of crew feeling confused and frightened after recent arrests and deportations, with Norwegian Cruise Line organizing town hall meetings to address their concerns.
