Two Crystal cruise ships sold in Bahamas

Submitted by kgnadmin on

The sale of two Crystal Cruises ships ended at an auction for 128 million dollars. Crystal Symphony, which entered service in 1996, sold for $ 25 million, and the 19-year-old Cristal Serenity for $ 103 million.

The two ships were arrested in the Bahamas after the collapse of the parent company Genting Hong Kong earlier this year.

A tribune in the Bahamas reported that the buyer is believed to be in London, but details have not been revealed.

The Supreme Court in the Bahamas undertook the sale of two luxury ocean-going ships after the failure of Genting.

Former Silversea Cruises owner Manfredi Lefebvre d’Ovidio is believed to have been among the bidders alongside a large company in the cruise sector.

It was said that the expedition ship Cristal Endeavor attracted the greatest attention of potential suitors, and the luxury brand Royal Caribbean Group Silversea was listed as a possible buyer.

Crystal Cruises also had river vessels operating in Europe that are also believed to be for sale.
