Two feathered stowaways have captured the attention of passengers and crew aboard Allure of the Seas during its transatlantic voyage from Miami to Europe. The two owls made themselves at home in the ship’s Central Park, where they have been enjoying an unplanned voyage across the Atlantic.
The birds are believed to have boarded at the ship in Miami on February 10, 2025. Since then, Allure of the Seas has been at sea, with no port calls, making the ship their temporary sanctuary. The owls have been spotted perching among the park’s trees, seemingly unfazed by their new maritime surroundings.
Passengers quickly took to social media to share their surprise at the unusual guests, with one cruiser posting:
"Just spent ages in the Central Park area of the RCCL Allure of the Seas staring at this owl thinking how realistic it looks, but obviously, it can’t be an actual, real, live owl. Turns out it actually is the real thing, and it’s getting an unplanned free cruise from Miami to Palma. It’s become quite the tourist attraction!"
According to ship officers, this is not the first time this has occurred. The Captain recalled a similar event during the inaugural transatlantic voyage of Oasis of the Seas, when an owl found its way onto the ship. However, due to strict agricultural and wildlife regulations, handling these unexpected visitors requires careful planning.
After consultation with wildlife specialists, a plan was put in place to ensure the owls’ well-being. The captain announced that the birds had been carefully collected and placed in temporary enclosures for their safety.
