Viking’s newest ocean ship, Viking Mira, has been floated out at Fincantieri’s Ancona shipyard, marking a key milestone ahead of her spring 2026 debut. The 54,300 GT vessel will feature 499 cabins and accommodate up to 998 guests.
The ship will sail itineraries in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe and continues Viking’s expansion in the small ship segment. The float-out ceremony was attended by Viking’s New Building Site Manager Gastone Lazzari and Ancona shipyard director Gilberto Tobaldi.
“This marks yet another important milestone as we continue to grow our fleet,” said Viking Chairman and CEO Torstein Hagen.
Part of a broader 28-ship partnership between Viking and Fincantieri, Viking Mira is being outfitted with high-efficiency engines and advanced environmental systems that meet the latest global maritime standards. The Ancona yard remains a key production site for the group, with a strong focus on innovation, robotics, and operational excellence.
