The Viking cruise ship Viking Star scored perfect 100 points on the recent unannounced USPH public health inspection. The inspection carried out by a sector of the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) took place on October 14, 2022, while the ship was in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Crew Center received a copy of the latest Vessel Sanitation Inspection Report stating that the Viking Star received a top score.
This is the second time for Viking Star to score perfect 100 points. The previous USPH inspection was conducted exactly four years ago on October 15, 2018. We like to congratulate all Viking Star crew for their hard work and long hours, making this beautiful vessel one of the cleanest ships in the fleet.
The CDC website has yet to release the results of the latest inspection, however, it seems that the website is lagging behind with the release of the latest results carried out on several ships this year.
Before the pandemic, USPH inspection was conducted twice a year for the ships sailing out from US ports. During the inspections, all areas of the cruise ship are inspected including food handling, medical facilities, water systems, water quality, dining rooms, and common areas of the ship.
