Windstar Cruises is celebrating a special milestone as Wind Star, the very first ship in its fleet, marks 40th anniversary.
The celebration onboard was a heartfelt one, with the ship’s Executive Chef creating a standout birthday cake to mark the occasion.
At the same time, Wind Star is undergoing a major refresh as part of Windstar’s ongoing Setting Sails initiative. The vessel is currently in dry dock at Navantia, Spain where Phase 2 of the project is underway.
The upgrade focuses on enhancing the ship’s signature yacht-style experience. Staterooms are being refreshed, and public spaces such as Amphora and Veranda are being redesigned with a focus on timeless elegance, improved comfort, and a more modern feel—while still preserving the charm that long-time guests appreciate.
For crew members, dry dock periods like this bring both hard work and anticipation, as familiar spaces are transformed and prepared for the next chapter.
