The Transatlantic Cruise was fatal for the 87 years old Mercedes Lessi  Raia who was sailing on a transatlantic voyage onboard MSC Preziosa. The ship docked on Saturday morning (23/11) at the port of Salvador, Bahia, bringing on board the body of Mercedes Lessi Raia, who died last Wednesday, when the vessel was returning from Europe.  

She was going to dinner with her daughters and took the stairs because the elevator was full . Finished falling down the stairs and banging hes head . Doctors provided continued care , but she ended up dying," said the son of the victim , Valduir Pagani . According to him, the police heard the testimonials from guests, Mercedes family and the medical team that provided care to the elderly. The body was removed by a Department Crime Lab for autopsy at the Medical Legal Institute of the city. But, the cadaverous examination will begin only after the thawing process of the body. "The family should be called tomorrow to receive the recognition and release of documents," said Pagani. The body will be taken to Mercedes Londrina, Paraná, where the family resides. 

In a statement, the company MSC Cruises , responsible for the cruise, said the woman had a sudden illness, suffered a fall and died on the ship MSC Preziosa .
