World Cup host nation Qatar announced it will charter two cruise ships which will be used as floating hotels to accommodate soccer fans during the FIFA 2022. Four thousand staterooms will be available during the World Cup from November 21-December 18 2020 in the port of Doha, following an agreement between the Organizing Committee and the MSC Cruises.

Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Voyages has unveiled the name of its second cruise ship, Valiant Lady which will debut in May 2021. The name is inspired by the Latin word “Valere” which means "bravery", "strength" and "courage." 

The luxury cruise line Silversea Cruises has launched a dedicated fund to preserve and safeguard the natural wonders of the Galapagos archipelago.

Great news for the Disney Cruise Line crew. The company announced they will provide free texting for their crew members across the fleet making it easier for shipboard teams to stay connected. Starting today the free service will be available onboard the Disney Magic and over the next three weeks, free texting will be available on Disney Wonder, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Dream. This will allow the crew to stay in contact with family and friends from the comfort of the cruise ship.

We passed through many cities on our way to Alaska. I went to Cabo Saint Lucas with Aleksandra my roommate, although we only had an hour and a half to be there. But no matter, it was just enough time for us to take some photos, buy hats and scarfs, have a Corona and go for a little dip in the water. We also met with a few people and had a chat with them.

Not long ago P&O cruise ship Oriana was sold to the new China-based Cruise Company Astro Ocean Cruises‬. After the ship was fitted with a new livery and logo during a technical stop-over in Greece the vessel was renamed Piano Land. The new Company has just entered the cruise market but they have strong support from their crew members who know the business due to the fact that most of them are former employees of other major cruise lines.
