Former Empress of the Seas spotted in Dubai

Submitted by kgnadmin on

The former Royal Caribbean cruise ship Empress of the Seas was spotted in Port Rashid, Dubai by Cruise Arabia & Africa. The vessel which now bears the name Empress was sold to an Indian startup company Cordelia Cruises back in December 2020. From the photo, you can see that the ship still has all Royal Caribbean marks, including the Crown and Anchor logo on the funnel.

When the Empress was purchased from Royal Caribbean International, Cordelia Cruises announced that the vessel will undergo a thorough refurbishment before entering service. In the past months, Cordelia Cruises released a marketing campaign on social media with render images of how the ship will look with the new livery. Therefore she may be in Dubai for a refit, before entering into service.

Cordelia Cruises targets the Indian market and plans to start offering voyages in different homeports in India from June 5, 2021, but the cruise line has announced plans to launch as early as May this year.
