Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has signed an agreement with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri to construct three new cruise ships, one each for Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
All three vessels will be built in Italy, with the Regent Seven Seas ship scheduled for delivery in 2036, followed by the Norwegian Cruise Line and Oceania Cruises ships in 2037. Each vessel will join an existing class, with the Regent ship becoming the fourth in the Prestige Class, Oceania’s ship joining the Sonata Class, and Norwegian’s ship continuing its latest newbuild series.
NCLH said the order supports its long-term fleet expansion strategy while maintaining financial discipline. The company noted the agreement secures shipyard capacity through 2037 and will not significantly impact near-term cash flow.
With this latest order, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings now has 17 ships on order across its three brands—eight for Norwegian Cruise Line, five for Oceania Cruises, and four for Regent Seven Seas—supporting an expected annual fleet growth rate of approximately 4% through 2037.
