Oasis of the Seas to be Deployed in Asia in 2018

Submitted by kgnadmin on

Media in Japan reports that Royal Caribbean International will deploy Oasis of the Seas in Asia in 2018. Royal Caribbean has yet to decide where the mega cruise ship will call in Japan. Currently no port in Japan can accommodate such a big ship. The company is looking for options in various ports and their willingness to upgrade, including Yatsushiro and Kumamoto Prefecture in western Japan.

The number of Asian tourists traveling to Japan is increasing, thanks to Japan's easing on visa regulations.

Royal Caribbean moved three cruise ships in Asia, Quantum of the Seas, Mariner of the Seas and Legend of the Seas. Currently only Quantum of the Seas sails to the Japanese ports of Nagasaki, Naha, Hiroshima and Yokohama

The number of tourists arriving in Japan on Royal Caribbean cruise ships is expected to surge to 800,000 in 2017.
