In a move to attract more tourists, Muscat has announced a free 10-day visit visa for passengers and crew members of cruise ships visiting Oman. This new rule, part of Decision No. 132/2024, was introduced by Lieutenant General Hassan bin Mohsen Al Shuraiqi, Inspector General of Police and Customs.
What’s New?
Visitors arriving on cruise ships can now get a 10-day visa to explore Oman, at no cost. The visa is issued at the request of the cruise ship’s agent and must be used within 30 days of being issued. For those wanting a longer stay, a one-month visa is also available under the same conditions.
Why Is This Important?
This decision is seen as a major step in boosting Oman’s tourism industry. By making it easier for cruise passengers and crew to visit, Oman hopes to attract more travelers, helping local businesses and growing the country's tourism sector.

10-Day Free Visa: Cruise ship passengers and crew can get a free 10-day visa, which needs to be used within 30 days of issuance.
One-Month Visa: A one-month visa is also available upon request, following the same entry rules.
