Virgin Voyages' second cruise ship Valiant Lady is getting the final touches with the mermaid design on the hull. The mermaid represents beautiful tension between strength and vulnerability – of the black American woman who is unafraid of her own power and never backs down. The hull art was created by artist Hillary Wilson, who wanted to convey the balance between the two and drew a mermaid who is confidently moving forward toward her dreams. 

The game studio Image Power has announced a new simulation game called Cruise Ship Manager. The game is in development stage and is set to be released in the second half of 2022. According to the company "Cruise Ship Manager" is a game where players will be able to manage the entire cruise ship, resources, sell cruises to passengers, manage revenue and costs, and take care of the crew.

Besides the increasing number of companies which are following the trend of decarbonizing their business, Royal Caribbean, one of the biggest cruise brands shouldn’t miss the opportunity to take a place in establishing those ambitious goals. Destination Net Zero - is in fact the company’s slogan for its decarbonization plan, a long-term one that has the year 2050 as its deadline. But more immediate goals have also been made public.

Queen Elizabeth is offering entirely new itineraries between February 20 and May 17, 2022. Sailings will depart from Southampton and will include a voyage in search of the Northern Lights, departures to the Canary Islands, Western Mediterranean as well as a grand voyage across the Atlantic Ocean, through the Panama Canal and on to Vancouver, Canada.

On Wednesday, 13th and 14th of October, Fiji One, a Captain Cruise’s sailing catamaran sailed to Mamanuca & Yasawa islands and another one called Reef Endeavour to the Northern Yasawa on 15th October. Both ships were loaded with essential supplies to help the villages, affected by the crisis caused by border closures and lack of tourism. 

Since there is still no green light for domestic cruise resumption, P&O Cruises Australia extended their cruise pause until 2022, which means a month-long from the previous. Instead of January 15, 2022 the hiatus applies to cruises scheduled to run to February 14, 2022.

Costa Toscana has successfully completed sea trials—a series of tests to verify the proper functioning of systems, equipment and LNG (liquefied natural gas) engines. Now, the ship is back at the Meyer shipyard in Turku, Finland, for additional work prior to the vessel's delivery to Costa Cruises in December 2021. Costa Toscana is Costa’s second ship powered by liquefied natural gas, the marine industry’s most advanced fuel technology available for reducing emissions.

The government of Bahamas decided to extend the country’s vaccination mandate for cruise ships seeking entry to the country. “As we extend this rule, we believe it will help us even further grow the tourism business in a balanced way,” said Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper.

The celebrations on the inaugural Mardi Gras cruise continue in Amber Cove, Dominican Republic, as the ship's Godmother and Miss Universe, Dominican Republic, Kimberly Jiménez welcomed the ship to her home country.
