A bizarre robbery worthy of Hollywood script took place on a luxury cruise ship docked in Piraeus, Greece.  According to the local media two tourists, Bulgarian nationals, have won a very large amount of money in the ship's casino.

A fire broke out in the engine room of the Luxury cruise ship, P&O Aurora. The vessel was drifting for an hour in mid-Atlantic without propulsion and electricity. Aurora made the last stop to King’s Wharf, Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda, before heading to Ponta Delgada, the Azores when a fire started in the engine room at around 13:00 September 20. 

“No Grandi Navi Committee”, a group that fights for the removal of cruise ships from the Venice lagoon staged a strange protest in the port yesterday. Several members disguised as animals, chained themselves to the cruise ship Thomson Dream while the vessel was moored. Afterwards, they lighted red smoke flares and placed a banner next to the ship “Save the planet – Save the Lagoon. Stop climate chaos – Stop cruise ships.”

A crew member which was arrested together with her partner in Bermuda on August 7, 2017, for causing her own miscarriage has been released by the Supreme Court. She and her partner, booth crew members of the cruise ship Norwegian Dawn walked free from the court in Bermuda yesterday, reports The Royal Gazette.

Costa Cruises revealed the name of its latest cruise ship, Costa Smeralda set to debut in October 2019. The news was announced during the steel cutting ceremony today at Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland. Costa Smeralda will be the first vessel in Costa Cruises Fleet to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), the world’s cleanest burning fossil fuel. The vessel will exceed 180,000 gross tons with more than 2,600 staterooms for a total capacity of 6,600 passengers onboard.
