A dead fin whale was discovered on the bow of the Holland America cruise ship MS Zaandam early Sunday morning at around 5 a.m. just as the ship was preparing to dock in Seward. Investigators from NOAA and members of the Alaska SeaLife Center and Alaska Marine Mammal Stranding Network and were dispatched to the scene. It's too early to say if the whale was killed when struck by Zaandam or if was already dead when it became lodged on the cruise ship bow.

A 23-year-old student from Kraguevac, Serbia, identified as Jovan Spasic was stabbed four times during graduation excursion on a cruise ship sailing from Barcelona to Rome. As reported by BLIC the incident occurred on the night between Monday and Tuesday around 4 a.m. and attacker was identified, as Aleksandar Stojanović (28) from Serbia.

Some restaurants in the Greek island of Rhodes are taking advantage of the cruise ship tourists charging hefty price for a meal. Two days ago a family had arrived in Rhodes on a cruise ship. Going for a walk in the Jewish Martyrs Square they sat down for lunch at one of the restaurants. When asked for the dish of the day, the waiter recommended the catch of the day. The family forgot to ask the price, and the waiter charge them 300 Euros for one fish, a salad, a beer and a soft drink.

Celebrity Cruises increased the recommended amount of gratuity on board its cruise ships, following the example of several other shipping companies. As of July 2016, the amounts to tip at Celebrity Cruises depending on cabin category will range from 13.50 to 17 US dollars.In standard staterooms, the recommended and automatically the onboard account loaded tip instead of $ 12.95 will be $ 13.50. Guests in Aua and Concierge Class Staterooms will pay $ 14 instead of $ 13.45 for the suites, the amount per person per night increased from $ 16.45 to 17 dollars.

Cruise ship crew member was arrested in Livorno, Italy on charges of sexual assault of a seven-year old child. According to the Italian News Media, the incident happened on Thursday, May 26 in the center near via Grande. A woman witnessing the incident said that the man approached a group of children, and moved towards a little girl and started to rub on her for a few seconds.

Italian Coast Guard Medevac US passenger from Celebrity Constellation, while the cruise ship was sailing twenty nautical miles from Cape Colonna. The ship captain concerned about the poor health of the passenger, suffering from cerebral stroke, launched a distress call for immediate medical evacuation. The Medevac was performed with the use of rescue CP873 patrol boat from the port of Crotone, Italy.   

Alaska Native News reports that a Celebrity Millennium crew member was escorted off the ship by US customs officials. The Mexican crew member will be deported back home according to the Alaska State Troopers report. The official report states that investigation followed after a call at 10:30 AM on Wednesday when Ketchikan police with the assistance of U.S. Customs, escorted the crew member off the cruise ship for assault on two fellow crew members.

Video released by a small cruise company in Australia went viral with 2,5 million views in four days. Passengers on a cruise in Shark Bay, Australia, witnessed a feeding frenzy of more than 70 tiger sharks devouring a dead whale in the middle of the crystal clear waters of the Pacific Ocean. In the drone video you can see sharks swimming in a circle around a 30 tons humpback whale, eat it slowly. Two small boats carrying fifteen passengers, are around the whale watching what is happening.

A French passenger sailing onboard Costa Fascinosa cruise ship died yesterday morning during an emergency evacuation by a Sea Rescue helicopter. The 77 year-old passenger suffered heart attack when the ship was about 50 miles from Mallorca, Spain. The tragic event happened when the man danced with his wife on the ship at around eleven o'clock at night. The onboard medical team quickly responded to the scene by providing emergency treatment. Spanish coastguard was alerted to carry out urgent transfer to the nearest hospital, and a helicopter was mobilized.
