Thirteen passengers between the ages of 18 and 20 have been charged following a fight aboard the cruise ship Costa Smeralda. According to Sky TG24, the confrontation involved two groups of young passengers. One group was reportedly from Lecce and had boarded the ship in Civitavecchia, while the other group was from Sicily and had boarded in Palermo.
The incident reportedly began near the ship’s nightclub after a comment was directed at a young woman. A verbal argument followed and quickly turned into a physical confrontation, during which tables, chairs and other objects were allegedly used.

The disturbance then continued through the ship’s corridors and into the elevator area. According to the reports, one young passenger was assaulted while lying unconscious on the floor.
The injured passenger was taken to a hospital for medical examinations. Doctors reportedly ruled out serious injuries.
Crew members intervened to stop the fight and contacted the authorities. When the ship arrived in Palermo, officers from the Maritime Border Police launched an investigation.
Police reviewed the ship’s surveillance footage to reconstruct the incident and identify those allegedly involved. All 13 young passengers were subsequently charged with aggravated brawling.
