Cruise lines looking to hire 100,000 crew members over the next three years

According to Daniela Fahr, CEO of Connect, Germany's largest recruitment agency for cruise ships, the cruise industry will need some additional 100,000 new employees over the next three years. Therefore 15 major cruise lines and recruiting partners will present their job offerings at the "Cruise Jobs & Hotel Career Lounge" in Berlin on February 28, 2019.

A touching tribute was held in the port of Galveston for the crew member Charnel Rego who died suddenly onboard Carnival Freedom. With tears in their eyes, and wave of emotions, many crew and officers attended the ceremony in front of Carnival Freedom on January 5, 2019. The tribute has been marked with an emotional flower-laying ceremony into the sea by a group of Charnel’s closest friends.

Captain Adriano Binacchi welcomes ATP Cup Tennis Players on Carnival Spirit

Captain Adriano Binacchi and it’s amazing crew welcomed the professional tennis players onboard Carnival Spirit, marking the launch of the ATP Cup. This special event took place on January 7, while Carnival Spirit was docked in Sydney Harbour, Australia. The Captain and its crew shared some fun with tennis players Jamie Murray, Bruno Soares, Milos Raonic, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Lucas Pouille, Diego Schwartzman and Nick Kyrgios during the Fast4 Tennis Launch held onboard.

Carnival Vista Passes USPH Inspection With 89 Points

Carnival Cruise Line’s ship Carnival Vista has passed the recent United States Public Health Inspection (USPH) conducted by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The unannounced USPH inspection took place on December 16, 2018, at the ship’s homeport Galveston, Texas. Vista passed the inspection with a score of 89 points (just four points above the failing score of 85). The final score is not yet published on the CDC website however several crew members confirmed the news.

Carnival Cruise Line Increases Beverage Gratuities by 3% - Bar Department to Get 1,5% Increase

In a letter signed by Richard Morse, Senior Vice President Hotel Operation, Carnival Cruise Line announced the increase of the automatic gratuity charges for all beverage sales and a la carte dining outlets. This increase will be reflected in the Bar Department paychecks starting December 2018.
