Empress of the Seas Cancels San Juan due to safety concerns

The Royal Caribbean cruise ship Empress of the Seas, decided to cancel scheduled arrival to San Juan due to safety concerns over protests which started yesterday, calling for Puerto Rico Governor Ricard Orossello to step down. According to the latest reports the vessel is being re-routed to Tortola, British Virgin Islands, and all guests will receive refunds for prepaid shore excursions scheduled for San Juan.

Cruise Ship Captain Apologizes After Posting Wrong Sign in Gibraltar

Gibraltar Chief Minister Fabian Picardo, received a written apology from the Captain of the Holland America Line cruise ship MS Koningsdam after a wrong welcome sign was posted in front of the vessel with an outline map of the Rock painted in the Spanish flag. Located near the southernmost tip of Spain, Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory and therefore this error is considered to be offensive and provocative to the people of Gibraltar.
