Celebrity Edge to be first cruise ship to sail US waters once again on June 26

In an exciting day of positive news across the cruise industry, Celebrity Cruises announced they will be the first cruise line to set sail from the United States, with the cruise ship Celebrity Edge. Celebrity Cruises CEO and President Lisa Lutoff-Perlo shared the exciting news on social media.

Spain open for cruise ship arrivals from 7 June

Spain will reopen ports to international cruise ships from June 7, 2021 the government announced, citing improving pandemic situation and the vaccination rollout. The news was announced in a resolution by the General Directorate of the Spanish Merchant Navy, tweeted by the Spanish government ministry of transport. The government announcement on Saturday said that ships must follow the Ministry of Health's regulations for the safety of passengers and communities they visit.

Stockholm welcomes Mein Schiff 1 the first cruise ship of the year

The cruise ship Mein Schiff 1 operated by TUI Cruises has kicked off the cruise season departing from the German port of Kiel on a 7-day Blue Baltic voyage. Captain Omar Caruana and his crew sailed out of Kiel Fjord for the first “Blue Voyage” in 2021 to the Baltic Sea with around 1,100 guests, exploring the beautiful archipelago landscapes off Stockholm and Turku. 

Disney to start test cruises aboard Disney Dream on June 29

A super-exciting news has just been announced by Disney Cruise Line on their return to cruising from the USA. The cruise ship Disney Dream will begin simulated test cruises starting June 29, from Port Canaveral, Florida. The CDC approved the application from the cruise line as Disney met all the requirements for the simulated test cruises. All Guests sailing will be volunteers and will not be required to pay.

Odyssey od the Seas Crew Who Disembarked in Spain Now Test Negative for Covid-19

MSC to resume cruises from Barcelona on June 26 with MSC Grandiosa

Barcelona will be the first Spanish port to welcome a cruise ship after the lifting of the ban on cruises which entered into force in March 2020 and will end next Monday, June 7. The first cruise line to announce the return in Spain is MSC Cruises, with MSC Grandiosa, which will visit the Catalan capital on June 26 for stopover and passenger boarding as part of its Western Mediterranean itinerary.
