Aida Cancels Voyages on 3 Cruise Ships
Due to the current situation in the Red Sea, AIDA Cruises announced the cancellation of the trans voyages of AIDAbella, AIDAblu, and AIDAprima in spring 2024. The three ships will sail directly to their summer destinations in Europe, necessitating the cancellation of some individual cruises before or after the passages due to the longer route along the African coast. AIDA prima's journey from March 31st to April 7th, 2024 will now conclude in Dubai instead of Abu Dhabi.

After several shakedown cruises, the stage is set for the naming ceremony of the most anticipated cruise ship of 2024. The naming ceremony for the world's largest cruise ship, Icon of the Seas, will take place today, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at PortMiami, with the world's greatest footballer, Lionel Messi, serving as the godfather. 

Accident on cruise ship under construction in Monfalcone injures one worker

On Friday morning at approximately 8:30 a.m., a serious accident unfolded during the construction of the cruise ship Mein Schiff Relax at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone. A scaffolding attached to the side of the ship collapsed for reasons that remain unclear, trapping a 25-year-old worker underneath. The Italian fire brigade, with the assistance of a mobile crane, successfully rescued the worker who was then transported to the hospital with injuries.

Former AIDAvita to Sail as Blue Dream Melody in China

The former AIDAvita has undergone yet another name change, signaling new developments in the ship’s ownership. The cruise ship, currently docked in Tallinn, has transitioned from its temporary name, Avitak, to the all-new Blue Dream Melody. This alteration suggests that the speculations in media reports regarding its recent acquisition by the Chinese cruise line Blue Dream Cruises are gaining credibility, although an official statement from Blue Dream Cruises is still not released.
