Carnival Horizon has joined Carnival Cruise Line as the 26th cruise ship of the fleet. Horizon is currently sailing to Barcelona where the inaugural 13-day voyage will start on April 2nd. The traditional maritime handover ceremony was held at the Fincantieri shipyard attended by Micky Arison, Chairman of Carnival Corporation, Christine Duffy, President of Carnival Cruise Line, while Fincantieri was represented by the president Giampiero Massolo and the managing director Giuseppe Bono.

"Carnival Horizon is an absolutely stunning ship offering so many ways to 'Choose Fun' both inside and out," said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.  "In addition to the many exciting innovations previously introduced on Carnival Vista, Carnival Horizon offers some new one-of-a-kind features and attractions that make this ship truly special allowing our guests to create a lifetime of wonderful vacation memories," she added.

Carnival Horizon is a sister ship of Carnival Vista, the largest ship so far built by the Italian shipyard Fincantieri for the fleet of Carnival Cruise Line. The vessel has a gross tonnage of 133,500 tons, is 323 meters long and can accommodate more than 6400 crew and passengers. The units of the 'Vista' class represent a new technological reference point at European and world level for the innovative layout, very high performance and the high quality of cutting-edge technology solutions. The interior fittings are characterized by a very high level of comfort, offering a wide range of entertainment, including an Imax 3D cinema, a brewery with craft beer production on board, restaurants as well as theaters, shops and spas. One of the novelties is represented by Havana, a theme area, restricted and exclusive, composed of private cabins, bar and an infinity pool, which can be accessed, during the day, only passengers who stay in this area. Carnival Horizon has been built according to the most recent navigation regulations and supplied with the most modern safety system and with a low environmental impact.
